Share a budget
Invite other people to a budget so you can track shared expenses together — useful for households, couples, or anyone splitting costs.
Roles
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full control — budget settings, categories, transactions, transfers, and member management |
| Editor | Add, edit, and delete transactions; edit category limits and details; add or archive categories; move money between categories |
| Viewer | Read-only access — can see the budget, categories, and transactions but can't make changes |
Invite someone
- 1Go to Settings → Users and click Invite (or use the share action on a budget in the Budgets list).
- 2Enter the person's email address.
- 3Choose Viewer or Editor access.
- 4Confirm which budgets to share — all budgets by default, or use Customize budgets to pick specific ones.
- 5Leave Auto-share future budgets on if you want new budgets included automatically.
- 6Optionally expand Advanced options to add a first name or share savings goals.
- 7Click Send invitation.
Users on an active trial or paid plan can send invitations. Group subscription members can collaborate on shared budgets but cannot send new invitations.
Manage pending invitations
Invitations expire after 7 days. Under Settings → Users → Pending invitations you can resend or cancel them.
Change a member's role
- 1Go to Settings → Users.
- 2Find the member under Budget members.
- 3Click the role badge and select a new role.
Remove a member
- 1Go to Settings → Users.
- 2Find the member and click the ⋯ menu.
- 3Select Remove member and confirm.
Removed members immediately lose access. Any transactions they added remain.
