Welcome to Moniepot! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Moniepot personal finance management platform, including our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Please read these terms carefully before using our service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use Moniepot.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Moniepot, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts
• You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy
• You will use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• All information you provide is accurate, current, and complete

Account Registration and Security

Account Creation

To use Moniepot, you must create an account by providing:

• A valid email address
• A secure password meeting our requirements
• Your name and other required information

Account Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
• You are liable for all activities that occur under your account
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

One Account Per User

Each user may maintain only one active account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or for fraudulent purposes is strictly prohibited.

Description of Service

Moniepot provides personal finance management tools, including:

• Budget Management: Create, track, and manage personal and household budgets
• Transaction Tracking: Record and categorize income and expenses
• Receipt Scanning: OCR-powered receipt scanning and automated transaction entry
• Financial Insights: Charts, reports, and spending alerts
• Budget Sharing: Collaborate with family members or household partners
• Multi-Currency Support: Track finances in various currencies

Important: Moniepot is a budgeting and expense tracking tool. We do not provide financial advice, connect to bank accounts, or process actual financial transactions. All data you input is for personal record-keeping purposes only.

User Responsibilities

As a user of Moniepot, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information
• Keep your financial data up to date
• Use the Service only for lawful purposes
• Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Not use the Service to store or transmit malicious code
• Not interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Not scrape, mine, or harvest data from the Service
• Respect the intellectual property rights of Moniepot and other users

Prohibited Uses

You may not use Moniepot to:

• Violate any local, state, national, or international law
• Transmit unauthorized advertising or spam
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Upload or transmit viruses or malicious code
• Collect or track personal information of other users without consent
• Engage in any activity that could harm minors
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Remove or modify any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices

User Content and Data

Your Content

You retain all rights to the financial data, transaction information, and other content you provide to Moniepot ("User Content"). By using our Service, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store and process your User Content to provide the Service
• Create backups for data protection purposes
• Generate aggregated, anonymized analytics about your usage (no personally identifiable information)

Website Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, and PostHog to understand how users interact with the application. Google Analytics collects anonymized data about pages visited, session duration, device type, and geographic location. PostHog collects feature interaction events (e.g. budget created, transaction added) linked to your user ID — no financial data is included. Neither service is used for advertising. Content Standards

While we don't monitor User Content, you agree that your content will not:

• Violate any third-party rights
• Contain false or misleading information
• Contain offensive, abusive, or discriminatory material

Intellectual Property Rights

Moniepot and all its content, features, and functionality (including but not limited to software, text, designs, graphics, logos, and trademarks) are owned by Moniepot and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of our Service
• Use our trademarks or branding without written permission
• Frame or mirror any part of the Service

Payment and Subscriptions

Free Trial

Moniepot offers a 21-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card is required to start your trial.

Subscription Plans

After your trial ends, you must subscribe to continue using Moniepot. We offer:

• Monthly Plan: $4.99 per month, billed monthly
• Annual Plan: $49.99 per year, billed annually (save 17%)

Group Subscriptions

Each subscription includes access for up to 4 people at no additional cost. The subscription owner can invite up to 3 additional members to share budgets and collaborate.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. By subscribing, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete payment information
• Authorize recurring charges to your payment method
• Update your payment information if it changes
• Pay all applicable fees and taxes

Automatic Renewal

Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged the then-current subscription rate.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation:

• You will retain access until the end of your current billing period
• No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods
• Your data will be preserved for 30 days after cancellation
• You can reactivate your subscription within 30 days to restore full access

Refund Policy

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers. If you're not satisfied within the first 7 days of your paid subscription, contact us at support@moniepot.com for a full refund. After 7 days, all payments are non-refundable. Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days to your original payment method.

Price Changes

We may change our subscription prices at any time. If we increase prices:

• Existing subscribers will receive at least 30 days advance notice
• The new price will apply at your next renewal date
• You may cancel before the renewal date to avoid the price increase

Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method again. If payment continues to fail:

• Your account will be marked as past due
• You will have a grace period to update your payment method
• After the grace period, your access will be suspended
• Your data will be preserved for 30 days from suspension

Service Availability and Modifications

We strive to provide reliable, continuous service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time
• Perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice when possible
• Change features, functionality, or content without prior notice

We are not liable for any losses resulting from service interruptions or modifications.

Termination

By You

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support. Upon termination:

• You may export your data before deletion
• Your data will be deleted within 30 days (subject to legal retention requirements)

By Moniepot

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse the Service or other users
• Have been inactive for an extended period (with notice)

Disclaimers and Limitations

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

Moniepot disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
• Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of content
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Security of data transmission

Financial Disclaimer: Moniepot is a budgeting tool, not a financial advisor. We do not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Always consult with qualified professionals for financial decisions.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Moniepot and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
• Business interruption or lost opportunities
• Errors in financial data or calculations you input

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of Moniepot shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months (currently $0).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Moniepot and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Your User Content

Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution

Before filing a legal claim, you agree to contact us at legal@moniepot.com to seek informal resolution.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law principles.

Arbitration

• Severability: If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect
• No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right
• Assignment: You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them with notice
• Force Majeure: We are not liable for failures caused by circumstances beyond our control
